Gillespie, James & Nancy to Neal Gillespie

This Indenture made this 15th day of March one thousand eight hundred & fourteen 1814 between James Gillespie and Nancy his wife of the one part & Neal Gillespie of the other part all of the county of Mercer & State of Pennsylvania
Witnesseth that for and in Consideration of two thousand dollars lawfull money to them in hand paid by the said Neal Gillespie at & as indicated on the signing of these presents the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged and the sd. Neal Gillespie his heirs etc. forever discharged & acquitted for the ____ have granted bargained and Sold and by these presents doe grant bargain and sell to the said Neal Gillespie his heirs & assigns forever all our whole rights title interest & claim in to & out of the following described tract or piece of land lying and being in Sliprey rock Township and in the County & State above mentioned to wit begining at a hawthorn and running thence North three & one half degrees West by land of John Poland ninety two perches to a post and white oak thence South sixty degrees West eighty four perches to a white oak thence South twenty eight degrees East thirty perches to a post thence South twenty nine degrees West twenty two perches eight tenths to a post thence South twenty three degrees East sixteen perches & four tenths to a post thence North sixty seven degrees East twenty one perches & seven tenths to a post Thence South twenty three degrees East fifty eight perches to a black Jack thence north thirty seven degrees East fifty eight perches to a Hawthorn tree the place of begining Containing thirty seven acres & allowance be the same more or less with all the buildings woods ways waters and water courses thereon belonging to him the sd. Neal & his heirs & assigns forever And the said James and Nancy his wife for themselves their heirs &tc. Will forever warrant & defend the said premises against the legal claim challenge or demand of any persons whatsoever claiming or to claim the same there under or by them

28th March 1814 personally apeared before me a justice of the peace in & for Mercer County the within named James Gillespie and Nancy his wife and acknowledged the within Indenture to be their act & deed and desire it might be recorded she having been examined as the law directs.
